Elementary Teaching Position
East Carter County R-2 Schools
The East Carter County R-2 School District is accepting applications for a potential certified elementary teaching position (initial placement possibly in Kindergarten) beginning in August 2026. Appropriate certification for the position is a must. East Carter County R-2 is in Southeast Missouri with an enrollment of approximately 700 students k-12. The district has a strong technology program to support teachers and students in the learning process. Ellsinore is centrally located between Poplar Bluff and the Current River with many outdoor recreational activities nearby. The district is a 4-day school week and offers a very competitive health plan, with 8 options available.

MS Social Studies – Potential Coaching
East Carter County R-2 Schools
The East Carter County R-2 School District is now accepting applications for a Middle School Social Studies teacher for the upcoming year. The District is located in Southeast Missouri with an enrollment of approximately 700 students K-12, has a 4-day school-week, and offers 8-health plans for the teacher to pick from. The district has a strong technology program to support teachers and students in the learning process. Ellsinore is located in an area with many outdoor activities close by and a four-lane drive to major cities. Coaching opportunities may also be available.

Substitute Teachers
The East Carter Co. R-2 School District is accepting applications for substitute teachers and substitute para-professionals. Subs are needed throughout the district in many different job types and age groups. The current full-day pay rate is $135.00. Successful candidates must complete a job application, have completed 60 or more college hours, pass a background check and possess an active substitute teaching certificate issued from DESE prior to being presented to the Board of Education.
